Organisations within the Network for Vocational Assistance in Austria have been using the eAkt system for 20 years. This network offers support to young people in difficult circumstances and people with disabilities in finding apprenticeships, choosing a career, and securing employment. Services range from youth coaching, vocational training assistance, job placement assistance, and job coaching to workplace support.

When we developed the eAkt, it was one of the first web applications for documenting client data. Today, years later, it is more than just a tool – it is a proven standard for quality and efficiency.

This consistency has now borne fruit: On the recommendation of a satisfied client, we were able to adapt the eAkt system for the requirements in Italy. Even though youth coaching in Italy has its own unique characteristics, the core of the work remains the same: to provide the best possible support to young people on their path to education and career.

And this is where requirements management comes in. It acts as an intermediary between the business department and IT, as an interpreter between business goals and algorithms. Together, the idea becomes a blueprint, with our requirements manager acting as your personal navigator:

• Listening and understanding: As a first step, the requirements manager immerses herself in the customer’s world. She asks the right questions to learn not only what the customer wants to build, but why. She identifies pain points and looks for genuine added value.
• The bridging function: The requirements manager gathers customer wishes and filters them through the lens of feasibility. She mediates between stakeholder expectations and the technical possibilities of development.
• Precise translation: Vague ideas are transformed into crystal-clear specifications. She translates business logic into precise user stories and requirements that our IT department understands immediately. This avoids costly development errors and ensures that the final product is exactly what the customer needs.
• Quality assurance from the very beginning: Through meticulous requirements management, we define when a project is successful even before the first line of code is written. This saves time, keeps costs down, and guarantees maximum acceptance among end users.

Following an intensive collaborative concept phase, in this software development project we tailored the eAkt youth coaching precisely to the client’s needs as well. The system successfully went live at the end of January. We are proud that our expertise is now digitally supporting valuable youth work in Italy!
